Aurelio is a professor at the Electronics Department of the INAOE located in
Tonanzintla, Puebla, México. He got his PhD in Computer and Information Science in
Syracuse University, Syracuse NY, U.S.A, exploring applications of Artificial Intelligence
techniques to information retrieval. His areas of interest include knowledge
representation, information extraction and retrieval, and data mining, as well as methods
to solve these problems in parallel. Prof. López received his B.Sc. in Computer Science
from the Universidad Autónoma de Puebla; and the MSc degree in Electrical Engineering,
Computer Science option, from the Cinvestav-IPN, México, and worked in the Instituto
Mexicano del Petróleo (Mexican Institute of Petroleum) investigating applications of AI
to well log processing. He has taught Computer Science courses at Universidad Autónoma de
Puebla, Cinvestav-IPN, Instituto Tecnológico de Puebla y de Apizaco, México.
