Senior Research Scientist at the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics, Puebla, Mexico. Dr. Sucar received the Natonal Science Prize from the Mexican President; is Member Emeritus of the National Research System, and Life Senior Member of IEEE. His main research interests are in understanding and building intelligent systems that can interact with the real world, taking the best decisions under uncertainty. Based on probabilistic graphical models, decision theory and causal reasoning, he is extending and applying these representations to service robotics, computer vision, astophysics and bio-medicine.
